But, I couldn't resist posting. I hadn't been out in 2 years and had forgotten how wonderful the diving is. It was whale shark mania. We were excited when the divers saw one in the water. Then we got really excited when we encountered 22 on the surface. No one had ever seen anything like it. The water was clear and warm, the diving was excellent, I can't wait to go back out! As always the crew was professional and courteous, and fun on top of that. I've never had a problem on a trip to the Flower Gardens where Mother Nature wasn't the responsible party, and even those were manageable. The dives are planned well and run well, I've always felt I was in good hands. Just bring your seasickness medicine (transderm scop FTW!) pay attention at briefings, and follow instructions, and you're sure to have a dive experience that's hard to beat. The fish at Stetson bank are astounding; they just don't grow 'em like that anywhere else. The challenges nature throws your way just make the tale more fun to tell when you get back to shore. If you love diving, you definitely need to put this trip on your 'must do' list. The Capt selected some of the best dive locations and platfoms , allow us to view some of the most sought after photo oportunities ever desired . We were able to see several sharks , including a 10ft black tip, 12 ft hammerhead , and several silky sharks , as well as diving in a large school of rays . Several large lobsters were seen as well as a large octopus, ( head to beak 2ft). On the night dive , 2 different types of eels were found . An absolutely unbeatable platform dive with hundreds of large jacks , yellow tails, baracuda of all sizes , and schools of numerous types of fish , and a couple of very friendly large green sea turtles, made this experience one for the record books . My personal thanks to the Capt and crew for making this trip one of my lifes most memorable experiences .. The divemasters were great and very helpful. The whole crew was great, plenty of good food. I will be going again after I get more practice in. Crew was helpful at times, but could improve! Out of their control: Current was horrendous, used half of a tank to get to the bottom on some dives.
